Is WARDOGS on PS5?
Not today, and not on any announced date — but the studio has been asked directly and gave an answer, which is more than most coverage of this question suggests.
“We will definitely be coming to Xbox and PlayStation. That is the plan. We just do not know when.”
Said in Steam announcement — Answering Your Questions, 3 March 2026
Why that sentence gets reported two different wrong ways
Read quickly, it becomes “PS5 version confirmed” — which invites people to wait for something with no date attached. Read cynically, it becomes a denial, and pages appear saying the console version was dropped. The sentence supports neither. It is a stated intention with an explicit admission that the timing is unknown, given six months before the PC build shipped.
What has to exist before a PS5 date is real
Three things, none of which have appeared. A PlayStation Store product page, because platform holders list titles before they date them. A statement from Team17 rather than the development studio, because the publisher handles console distribution. And some public signal about how a 100-player match with vehicles and destruction is expected to perform on console hardware — the PC build’s recommended specification is an RTX 3070 for 1440p at 70fps, which is the context any console port has to be discussed in.
The related question people actually mean
A large share of the PS5 searches are really asking “should I wait?” The honest answer is that Early Access is expected to run for a while and the studio has published a roadmap of systems it still intends to build, so a console release would arrive into a different game than the one shipping now. If you are weighing the PC purchase instead, the price and editions page covers what the extra ten dollars buys.
Xbox is covered by the same sentence but raises the Game Pass question separately — see the Xbox page. The full record is on the platform board.
